With such notable characters as Seth Pecksniff, Mrs. Gamp, Montague Tiggs, Chevy Slyme, and Poll Sweedlepipe, Martin Chuzzlewit is one of Charles Dickens's great comic masterpieces. --------- Still famous more than 150 years after his passing, Dickens was an English writer and social critic.
