Description: 1872 The People's Standard Edition of The Holy Bible Beautiful original leather binding, the gold gilt design on covers is especially bright and clean. Binding shows a little bit of wear, but not much. Binding is sturdy, but the page edges are uneven with many places that appear to be protruding. This may be how the pages were trimmed and bound originally, but it's hard to tell. Title page is cut down a little bit and detached, but present. This copy actually has 16 photographs filling up the portraits pages at the rear. Typically these are found empty. This is the first family Bible I've come across that the portraits pages are actually full. Most of these appear to be tin type photographs. Measures about 12.25" x 10" and about 3.5" thick.
