Description: US REP. AMASA WALKER: RARE CIVIL WAR TRACT AND CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPHCABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPH AND 8-PAGE CIVIL WAR TRACT.HON. AMASA AND FREMAN[sic] WALKER. CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPH OF AMASA AND FREEMAN WALKER. (Boston, MA): (Marshall & Chute), [circa 1863]. Original cabinet card photograph of Amasa Walker, and his brother, Freeman Walker. Albumen silver print photograph (c.5.5 x 4 inches), on original cardstock mount (photographer’s imprint on verso, circa 6.5 x 4.25 inches), period ink caption in lower margin of mount: “Hon. Amasa and Freman[sic] Walker” [i.e. Freeman Walker]. Very good condition, with old glue and paper residue on verso. The image is sharp, and all the more interesting in that it was found with his Civil War tract, arguing, in part, for funding the war through the National Debt. Also, if it wasn’t identified, one might think it were trick photography, given the brothers’ resemblance.TOGETHER WITH: THE NATIONAL FINANCES. SPEECH OF HON. AMASA WALKER, OF MASSACHUSETTS.
