Perry, U.S.N., by Lieut. W.L. Maury and other Officers of the U.S. Japan Expedition, in 1853-54. This area was later called Edo Bay, and it now called Tokyo Bay. Very rare and important period map of this area of Japan. Shows Musasi, Simosa, Bay of Yedo, Kadsusa, Aawa, Gulf of Yedo, at lower left is Sailing Directions from the Harbor of Simoda, at lower right is Sailing Directions for the Bay of Yedo, at bottom are engravings showing mountains and the Needles. The map is in excellent condition. Originally folded as received by me. The size of the map is 30" by 27". 2)Very rare, important, large antique 1854 map, titled Enderomi Harbor, Island o Jesso, Surveyed by Order of Commodore M.C. Perry, U.S.N., with names of the surveyors, of the U.S.S. Southampton, then printed in 1854. Period map of this area, which was later called Ezo, and is now part of Hokkaido , Japan. Very rare and important period map of this area of Japan. The map is in excellent condition Originally folded as received by me. The size of the map is a large 16.5" by 22". 3)Very rare, important, large antique 1854 map, titled Lew Chew Island, Deep Bay, Surveyed by Order of Commodore M.C. Perry, U.S.N., by Lts. W.B. Whiting and A. Barbot, U.S. Ship Vandalia, J. Pope, Commander then dated 1853-54. This dates the map nicely (which is now part of Okinawa). The map is in excellent condition, Originally folded as received by me. The size of the map is a large 21" by 21".
