Bound in half Velum over marbled boards with matching endpapers. Gilt stamped volume numbers and decoration to the spine with titles on leather labels. Leather labels are cracked and chipped with the bottom label missing on volume 1. Chipping to the paper boards with light wear to the edges and some toning and some soiling to the velum. A few pages with foxing and toning. A previous owners name and 1870 date across the upper title page of each volume. Several pencil notations including the bookseller "3 Vol. 9.00 net" price at the end of volume 1. Overall, a very good set of this somewhat scarce title.
