Description: New, sealed on card The Republic of Texas Sesquicentennial token: Front has outline of state of Texas with rays coming out around it, with lettering "TEXAS with a star" (I believe this is the 1981 trademark for Texas, which may be on the reverse side) in the middle and "Sesquicentennial" under Texas; there is something on right hand side inside the state outline but I cannot make it out (see pic's); encircling the token "THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS SEQUICENTENNIAL*1836 - 1986*". The medal is sealed on card so I am unable to show the reverse side. The previous owner wrote on the back of the card a note about Gene Autry and attached an article about Texas honors Gene Autry on all Texas television in a tribute to the states 150th birthday (see pic's). Aluminum token measures approx 1 1/2" diameter and on card 3" x 2". Card has bent corners and damage on the back from the taping of the new clip to it; otherwise in good shape.
