Description: "Middlesex, in which is laid down every Parish and Place containing upwards of 40 houses."An interesting early 19th century county map, with details of the population, number of houses etc. It is remarkable to see the coty and Westminster extending no further than Hyde Park, Regents Park, etc. , leaving places like Camden Town, Fulham , and Bethnal Green as isolated 'villages'. The imprint at the bottom reads "Published Jan. 1, 1808 by R. Phillips, Bridge Street, Blackfriairs, London", and to its right "Cooper del. et sculp." The map is taken from Benjamin Pitts Capper's "A Topographical Dictionary of the United Kingdom", with editions to 1829. Size: the mount measures approx. 25cms x 17cms.Condition: Very slight staining top right, otherwise in a good condition. Please study my photographs. Postage: £1.50 within the UK. £4.00 to Europe, £6.00 to USA etc.I have other antique maps, books, prints etc. in my ebay shop - please see my other items.
