Description: This grouping is by "A Call to Arms" and features soldiers fighting in the English Civil War; a total of two opened boxes with 16 men. The ECW was a series of civil wars and political machinations between royalists to the crown and parliamentarians loyal to the rival Parliament. The war was fought from 1642 until 1651. Part of the wider 1639-1653 wars of the three kingdoms, the struggle consisted of the 1st ECW and the 2nd ECW. The Anglo-Scottish war of 1650-1652 is sometimes called the 3rd ECW. This grouping of 16 soldiers by "A Call to Arms" has both opposing sides figures, including flag bearers. If you wish, these soldiers could be used in an historic early 1600's Jamestown Colony diorama in Virginia. There are many companies that make American Indians with bows and arrows, so a Jamestown set can easily be built. These "A Call to Arms" figures are known for being very robust, rather thick as opposed to many companies that make 1:32 scale soldiers that are too thin and not really 1:32 scale in size. The flag bearers in this set are exceptional. These soldiers can be put in extremely hot water, then taken out and the flag poles, swords, lances, etc. can be pulled by hand and straightened, then put back in ice cold water to "set" the plastic in place while still holding the soldier. You can then display them without having bent poles, etc. This set can use that procedure.
