Description: Coin: ThreepenceYear: 1579Mint: Tower Mint, LondonComposition: 92% Silver (Sterling)Grade: NGC VF Details Version: 5th Edition (1578-1582) This 1579 Threepence is certified VF Details by NGC. It was minted at the Tower Mint in London in the 21st year of Queen Elizabeth I's 45-year reign, and is the 5th version struck during her rule, which began in 1558. This coin features a bold date that is only slightly faded towards the bottom of the four numbers. It has solid detail and lettering across most of the obverse, with only a few of the letters, the queen's hair and much of her crown and rose faded. The date and most lettering on the reverse are easily readable, though three quarters of the shield -- both fleur-de-lis quarters one of the lions' quarter -- are faded. Much like the monarch herself, coinage from Queen Elizabeth I's reign has always been popular and the threepence is no exception. Though not as hard to come by as some of the 3rd and 4th edition mintages, the 1579 is the second scarcest among the 5th edition's 5-year mintage. +++ PLEASE NOTE: Due to the recent spate of fraudulent returns on ebay in the U.S. and other countries, all returns are now opened in the presence of the local postmaster or postal carrier, and a certified notary public. This change does NOT affect our return policy in any way. Returns are still accepted for any reason as long as the item(s) are returned unaltered and undamaged. And refunds are still processed within 24 hours of the return's arrival (and almost always the same day.) You can find additional details of our return policy below, but if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us through ebay. Thank you for your continued support of Shenandoah.blue. +++ RETURN POLICY: We accept returns for any reason up to 30 days after your item arrives, as long as it is returned undamaged, unopened and unaltered. Raw DMPL or PL coins may still be returned if they have been taken out of their cardboard flips, as we understand the importance of being able to check mirror depth without the distortion of the reflective mylar. However, coins must then be re-secured in a new cardboard flip or mylar holder and returned otherwise unaltered. When we say we offer no hassle returns for any reason, we actually mean it. Don't like your item? No problem. Change your mind? No problem. Found a better price? No problem. Run it through the wash? ... eh, yeah, that would be a problem. But almost anything else โ that's right, no problem. Refunds, which consist of 100 percent of the purchase price (we don't charge "restocking fees"), are usually processed the same day the returned item is delivered, and always within 48 hours. If you wish to return an item, please give us the opportunity to make things right before you leave negative or neutral feedback or open a return case with ebay. You can always go back and open a case or leave negative feedback later if you are not satisfied. I am an honest seller who does not play games with return policies, shipping costs, photos or item descriptions. Thank you for reading and for looking at our items. If you have any questions about our listings, or our return or shipping policies, please feel free to contact me. I am happy to answer any questions you might have, whether you purchase an item from us or not. Thanks again.Sincerely,- Rob "Shenandoah.Blue"
