Description: This is a Great Lot of 12 Antique 1861 New York Times newspapers from the Civil War Era. All of these newspapers are “as is”, with condition problems, such as; tears; ceases; rough edges; fold splits or fold wear. The issues include; Apr. 16; June 8; June 29; July 23; July 27; Aug. 10; Aug. 16; Aug. 17; Aug. 20; Aug. 21; Sept. 2; & Sept. 3. The newspapers are all complete, and each is 8-pages long, with an unusual fold across the spine & top edges. They all feature a key to the Civil war news in the upper left hand corner of the front page, with most of the keys being titled “The Great Rebellion”, about the war efforts & campaigns. Inside there is a classifieds “Amusements” section, and most have a RARE add for the PT Barnum / American Museum in New York City, and their attractions of the day. Although the condition of these newspapers is not great, they are still very readable, as the paper back then was more hardy than today, and they are not likely to fall apart in your hands if you are careful. I’m also including several other partial newspapers from the same era. Please see the Ebay Shipping Calculator to determine the shipping cost to your area. Thank You for Considering My Item!!
