The focus of his life’s work was his great desire to find a simple and effective form of treatment that would be available for all to understand and use. Through his work he recognised that to bring about real healing it was necessary to treat the cause of illness rather than the symptoms. He believed that the true cause of illness and disease lies in the personality – in the mental and emotional patterns through which we view ourselves and the world around us. To treat these personality patterns he developed 38 remedies, known as the Bach Flower Remedies, and used by many people around the world. Each remedy is a correcting vibration for a state of mind or emotion that needs to be balanced. Since the body is a direct reflection of the mind, transforming negative vibrations into positive vibrations allows the body to respond naturally, thus restoring better health. Animals also suffer from the effects of emotional imbalance - but we humans are not always very good at understanding how they feel. Bach Flower Remedies can be just as effective for animals as they are with humans and the table of indications (symptoms) included in this listing will help you to identify the best remedies to use, depending upon your animal's behaviour. These remedies can be given to animals without fear of side effects, overdosing or addiction. They can be used in conjunction with other forms of treatment however they are not intended to replace medical care. HOW TO USE THE REMEDIES WITH ANIMALS The essences are easy to use – simply select the essences most appropriate using the table below and on a daily basis put 2 drops of each into the animal's water or on its food. Review the condition after 6-8 weeks, looking to see which states remain and if any new states have appeared. Alternatively you may wish to create a dosage bottle which can represent a more economical use of the essences. Put 2 drops of each of your chosen essences into a clean glass dropper bottle containing mineral water and add a teaspoon of cider vinegar, if you wish, as a preservative. On a daily basis you then put 2 drops from your dosage bottle into the animal's water or food – repeating daily for 6-8 week before review. Multiple purchases: I am happy to combine P&P costs for multiple purchases - please request an invoice when you have finished shopping. INDICATION BACH REMEDY OUTCOME Over-the-top friendliness which causes the animal to be so eager to please that it ignores its own needs and well-being. Agrimony Induces a sense of well-being and independence – reducing the need for attention from its owner Vague or unaccountable fears. Appearing agitated for no apparent reason ASPEN Provides a sense of security and fearlessness so he / she may face challenges and difficulties more easily Intolerance toward animals, people, events and situations Beech More tolerant of other animals and people This is for an animal that is so unsure about its own identity-and so unwilling to assert its needs and desires-that it kowtows to and obeys those more powerful than it, even though it's not in its best interests. Consider this essence for the "sidekick" animal who is forever doing the bidding of a more powerful animal in the household, or for the runt of the litter who needs to learn how to stand up for itself Centaury Helps the animal to stand up for itself and recognise its own needs and desires Leadership issues. Lack of participation in an engaging activity-such as playing with other animals because it takes it away from you. Behaviour becoming more juvenile and dependent. Cerato Animal finds confidence & assuredness and finds self-worth without relying on others. Animal starts to trust its own instincts and opinions. A loss of self-control, violently scratching itself Cherry Plum A self-controlled animal Repeated unsuccessful behaviour patterns, doesn't learn from past mistakes Chestnut Bud Allows the animal to learn from experience so it can move on in life and not repeat the same mistakes Possessive in nature, very territorial. Manipulatively loving to keep control Chicory A more unselfish, self-assured, loving animal No apparent interest in the world around them: animals who sleep all the time, have trouble paying attention, or seem to live more in a dream than in the present Clematis Enables the animal to develop a more lively interest in the world around them and enjoy and participate in life Obsessive cleanliness, fastidiousness; excessive grooming. Overwhelmed by a sense of responsibility from a temporary circumstance: abandoning its litter Elm Restores confidence, positive outlook and coping capabilities in the animal Despondency due to a setback; eg; not going for a walk as usual creates lethargy and sadness Gentian Restores optimism (May also need Honeysuckle) Animal has lost all hope and has become numb. It has reached the point of not caring whether it lives or dies, and the vacant, blank look in its eyes will communicate this to you. Gorse Helps to restore interest in life, optimism and a sense of belonging Overly concerned with companionship. Constant barking Heather A pet that does not need to be the centre of attention Jealousy of other animals or a new baby in the home. Angry growling, hissing, barking, snapping or unprovoked attacks Holly An animal that is more compassionate and willing to share with other animals Homesickness or over-attachment to the past. May shake or shiver when confronted. Shy and timid animals Mimulus Animal becomes more confident and courageous, can enjoy life without fear Deep depression that manifests itself in a pervasive gloominess without a clear cause or provocation. Mustard Helps restore trust in the smallest grain of hope that will eventually lead to growth and renewal Always having to be the strong one which means that an animal might not acknowledge its weakened state and so will not take the time to heal, rest and recuperate. Oak Helps a convalescing animal to stay still rather than work or play even when it is reaching the point of exhaustion Exhaustion, fatigue due to overwork: for working animals or those involved in racing, competitive events or shows Olive A restoration of strength and vitality.
