A former La Mesa, California Police Officer and later a San Diego County Deputy Sheriff, Don always had a bent towards law enforcement equipment. - Don, a more unassuming and less flamboyant type, has always made an excellent holster, and his products are well known throughout the West. In the early days he operated out of a 10 acre, 25,000 square foot building. He perfected the rugged rigs of his day, and created new styles and developed new ideas as the company grew. - He worked at various times with the likes of ELMER KEITH, BILL JORDAN and other famous shootists in holster designs and patents. The biggest footnote in Holster History for the Don Hume Company would probably be the development and marketing of the BILL JORDAN BORDER PATROL design, and having it overseen by Bill himself, a personal friend of Don Hume. This is for a LOT of 10, New, out of the Package, old factory stock, vintage DON HUME, Utility Case. BLACK Finish Marked as Model C311, this is in the 1976 HUME catalog and looks like a specialy case for a TEAR GAS Canister used at that time. The case is made from molded premium leather, nice finish, smoothed and finished edges. Fully serviceable and uniform quality. Here's where it may get complicated. The 1976 catalog states it fits a MKV GAS BOMB HOLDER All google searches show this item as a MKV Gas Bomb/Grenade But the catalog page shows something different in the holder, and I can not identify it and the holder is more square than round. So you decide, and if you know, tell me! The case is about 3" Across x 1 5/8" Thick 4.5" x 7" And Mounts Vertical on the Belt up to 3" wide It has a one way snap on the belt loop and It can be used to hold other things perhaps if they fit the measures.
