1 Male, Female, or M/F Pair of German Gold Ram Dwarf Cichlids Live Fish (1-1.5")

Description: This is a listing for either a Male, Female, or Male/Female pair of German Gold Rams (Mikrogeophagus Ramirezi) Dwarf Cichlids! Rams have been a staple in the aquarium hobby for decades, and rightfully so with their bright colors and vivid personalities. The gold variant is a unique version of the typical blue ram, and often an overlooked beauty in my opinion. They are a little pickier than most dwarf cichlids about water parameters, mainly because of their affinity for warmer water, but are all in all quite hardy and do well when taken care of properly. Notorious for their feisty ways and fierce parenting style, rams are easily my personal favorite fish I've ever kept, and would love to see others fall in love with them just as I have! Rams require a standard hot-water tropical setup. Recommended ph is between 6-7, temp between 80-84, and a TDS of ~200 or a little lower.I personally raise my rams in a ph of 7.2, 82.5 degrees Fahrenheit, and a TDS of right around 200. These are adaptive little fish so as long as your parameters are somewhere in the general vicinity of the recommendations (barring temp; these guys do like it hot!) I don't doubt they'll thrive in your care. Rams are a semi-aggressive species that do well in pairs but not in groups. They don't do well with other dwarf cichlids but can go with larger/peaceful warm-water fish such as discus, some plecos, some corydoras, and schooling tetras. An increase in aggression is seen in this species during breeding. They are spectacular parents so they tend to be extra territorial and protective when they have young. If you provide an area of the tank dedicated to them, they will likely chase other tankmates away, but shouldn't interfere with other areas of the tank. Watching these fish parent their young is an incredible experience! Males of the species top out at about 3 inches and females ~2 inches or so. A pair requires at least a 20 gallon tank, or a single specimen in a 10 gallon. The fish you will be receiving will be somewhere around 1 to 1 1/2 inches long, the males being larger. They take all kinds of food: pellets, flakes, frozen, and live and have been raised on all of the above! -Pictures above are of the tanks holding the actual fish you will be receiving. There are color differences between individual fish so I encourage you to watch the video for a good feel for color. (Note: I do keep my gold, gold longfin, and black rams together, so disregard the black rams and longfin golds in the video, or if you're interested in them check out my other listings, lol!) -Fish are shipped via FedEx 2Day shipping in insulated boxes with a heat pack if necessary.-I only ship on Mondays & Tuesdays to lessen the chances of your fish getting delayed in the mail, and to get them to you ASAP! -Orders placed late Sunday or Monday will be pushed to the next week.-If the weather in your area has lows below freezing and/or highs below 40 on the days of transit, I will delay shipping until the weather is warmer. -Fish are shipped in breather bags, so please do NOT float the bags in your tank, so the fish have as much available oxygen as possible! DOA Policy: In the unlikely occurrence that your fish arrive DOA, please simply take at least 2 pictures of the UNOPENED bag showing the dead fish (and any alive) within 1 hour of the first delivery attempt and I will be happy to refund or replace them.
